XL Hybrids adds an electric motor, an advanced lithium ion battery pack, and sophisticated control software to the vehicle – without making significant modifications to the original equipment manufacturer's (OEM) internal combustion engine or transmission.
XL Hybrids' parallel hybrid system saves fuel through regenerative braking, a process by which the electric motor helps slow the vehicle when drivers brake, charging the battery. The battery then releases the energy to the electric motor, helping propel the vehicle when drivers accelerate. Our proprietary controls make the electric motor assist smooth and seamless to the driver and passengers.

Our technology is now available as a ship-thru option on MY14 Express and E-Series vans via Leggett&Platt, a Ford QVM and General Motors SVM -certified installation partner. The hybrid powertrain can also be installed as a retrofit on MY10-13 Express vans and MY09-13 E-Series vans. Installation takes about 6 hours.
